I am writing this blog as I am currently pissed off with the way Grayscale artist/designers are being treated in the coloring community. Some groups on facebook wont allow us colorists to share our work that we have spent hours upon hours working on due to the fact it is grayscale and from designers like Deanna Harrison and Hester. This is wrong. As colorists we color anything we want to color just like designers make us those books for us to color. But to have groups tell you that your work isnt allowed because it is grayscale is complete bollocks, if a coloring group is made it should be made for all kinds of coloring not just line art. People like Deanna Harrison spend months working on pictures for us to color and alot of money spent by buying the rights to those pictures that we color and for groups to refuse it or ban grayscale books due to copyright no offence but if the designers are spending the money to buy the rights to the images then they should be allowed. Grayscale designers and artists are discrimated against and this needs putting a stop to. If admin want to have coloring groups on facebook they should call themselves Lineart only groups as coloring comes in all shapes and forms just like us as human beings, it takes alot of talent and time for designers and artists to make the Grayscale books and I am one who is backing them designers. As a colorist I love grayscale and lineart work as i know it takes the person who has created the books and work we color time and money to do. I am thankful for people like Deanna and Hester for taking the time, staying up late, missing out on family time, all the money spent for the licences and copyright rights for us to color their fantastic work and anyone who is discriminating against what they do is like being a RACIST.. Racistim isnt tolarted nor should this be towards Designers and artists of grayscale books. Anyone who discriminates these designers/artists is a racist.. This is my feelings and im sorry if someone does not like what i have put but i have the right to express my thoughts and feelings and this is my thoughs and feelings on the matter. This is From Cabins in the Woods an Upcoming Grayscale Book from Deanna Harrison. I used Derwent Procolours to colour this fantastic cabin in. I have give the trees some blossom to give it a spring vibe. I really like this picture as when you look at it, it makes you wanna stay there in the cozy surroundings, also the picture looks like a photograph with the finish I gave it. I mainly used Browns, Greys, Greens and a little pink for the blossom. If you Like the look of this picture please visit Deanna Harrison on amazon where all her books are for sale. Book: A Whimsy Girls Christmas Coloring Book; Festive Girls, Faries & More I have been suffering with stabbing head pain due to my FND but doing this picture really helpped. I really enjoyed coloring this picture it took me 2 days to do. I used Derwent Procolour pencils and Faber Castell Polychromos for the skintone ( Ivory, Light Flesh & Cinnamon) with a Derwent Blending Pencil and Derwent Blending Pen to blending the colors together and to finish the picture off I used Gelpens for all the detailing. I decided to give the hair blue streaks to give her hair character, The pink scarf goes well with the red jacket and christmas tree I used gelpens to give the decorations that christmasy feel. Her lips i went with a natural look. I enjoy coloring Hannah Lynns work as the pictures you can create perfect characters like this one Ive done.
